Leg cramps are very common, particularly in pregnant women. They happen when the muscle in your leg shortens suddenly and are usually over quickly. In most cases, cramps aren’t harmful and stretches and massaging the muscles can help. Sometimes leg cramps can be an underlying symptom of a condition like liver disease.
