Pickmeup: Technology today - don't you just love it??

Okay, we all have 'off days' but has anyone else ever become annoyed with the sheer level of incompetence that technology has brought us to? A lot of the time it's caused by nothing more than sheer laziness, it seems.

People don't bother to read what they actually send out any more! Letters which say 'Find Enclosed form/SAE' - and they never are, you have to pick up the phone and chase them...

Letters with your name and address on the heading - but addressed to 'Dear Mrs - Something completely different'.

Call Centres that are based overseas - drives me insane! The worst phrase in telephone history - 'you now have four options'! Tinny, discordant music that hammers through your eardrums while you're kept on hold. And they wonder why their call centre staff are sometimes subjected to 'telephone rage'

after they've bombarded their already frustrated customer aurally, with the equivalent of a musical cheese grater?....
