There is just one thing i cannot understand about my family, they want me to be happy but are always complaining about my weight. im about 5"4 and 10 stone 7 pounds and i feel comfortable about my myself...my boyfriend calls them my love handles, my family always seem to want to to pick on it, like if i wear a top and it shows my stomach slightly (bulge) they complain saying i should diet and cut out crisps and stuff but i barely eat as it is..i mean what more can i possibly do and why should i diet and change my weight when im happy just because they are unhappy? please sumone help.

elo. im twenty two and im about 4"11 and 13 stone 4 pounds.i have tried everything to lose weight and nothing has worked.i have got a lovely fiancee that supports m in every possible way.if i had the money i wouldnt think twice on having surgery.really depressed bout it. suicide is in my mind alot.my self estim is the size of a coffee bean.i know there is ppl out there that are in worst situation then i m.The reason for m to want to lose weight is because i cant walk, cant go up stairs cant do anything without stopping to rest.everytime i look at magazines and i see ppl that get offered surgery at 40 and 50 and even before surgery they look good.y cant we young ppl have those chances?dont mean to b rude. not everyone that is a bit bigger then usual done it on purpose.

If you're happy with the way you look and your boyfriend loves it too, then you have nothing to worry about. So many women have a low self esteem when it comes to their appearance. You are lucky!

Oh dear, Almost Twenty, you are right to rant and right to rave! That is hurtful for you, I am sure! I am no doctor, but you did not sound overweight, and more important, you are comfortable with yourself and your weight. So, there is no problem. You say you have the very good family who care a lot, so I am sure if you tell them that this is hurtful comments, they will leave you alone. Take care!
