 Hi, my name is emma and im..as my name says..almost twenty. I love reading pick me up magazine, i can't believe some of the things that people actually go through and how brave they are. I just wanted to join up here and hopefully make a few friends. hiya eveyone,my name is Jacqueline or Jackie as every one calls me,im an oldy 69 in june this year but i enjoy speaking to young and older people so please let me join in i promise not to be to silly as im well known for saying and doing silly things,this isnt an age thing iv always been the same "anything for a laugh"is my motto.i have two children,four grand children and one Great grand son who was a year old on July 7th.i look forward to speaking to any one who likes a natter or a laugh.

Hi everyone
Its good to see some new people on here. I tried before buty didn't hear back from many Pickmeuppers. Can anyone help me? My dad has got really really bad depression., He's tried suicide a couple of times, he won't accept help from the mental health services and hates it when he has to go inot hospital. I have a baby and a husband and live miles away. He has been quite mentally abusive towards me in the past and split up with my mum when i was 4, so we've only seen each other few times in a year. Now though, i'm the only person he has in the world. He lives alone. I call him and visit him, but his depression won't budge. I'm trying to look after my son, work part time, study and my hubby's dad has just died and my best friend has breast cancer. i'm starting to resent my dad and wish he would try harder to help himself. he's now not washing or eating and refuses to go to groups or take medication. i feel helpless and really sad but try to keep happy for my baby.

You poor love. That was an old post, but what happened, did your dad get any better, have things improved for you?
